Busy Saturday? ‘Cause there’s a lot happening in Prince George’s County’s Gateway Arts District that you might want to make some time for! More than 100 artists, studios and galleries are throwing open their doors for you. I’m excited to be taking part in three different ways, so be sure to add these stops to your Open Studio Tour.
Stop 1: I just dropped off two pieces from my Chasing Sunrise series to the Craft Store at the Brentwood Arts Exchange Gateway Arts Center. They’re hosting a reception for their latest exhibition from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. There’s also plenty to see in the store and gallery if your travels have you there sooner.
Stop 2: You can see my new fiber and glass creation in the artdc Gallery 18″ x 18″ Show, with an opening reception Saturday from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. There are more than 70 artists participating, so this stop lets you see a lot of awesome art all in one place.
Stop 3: Meet 10 Resident Artists (including me) with a tour stop at DC GlassWorks & Sculpture Studios. Drop by from 12:00 to 5:00 for a look at our glassblowing and metal working facilities and a peek inside everyone’s private studios–many with items for sale. I know I love days like this because I get to see the final results of pieces I may have seen in the making.
See you Saturday!
