Goodbye August

September is here already, but I’ll start with a quick wrap up of some things I didn’t get a chance to share from August.

I finished my first shawl while watching the Olympics closing ceremonies. (BTW–Did you see the scooters?!? You should check out this awesome video from a rider’s perspective.)

To make up for July, the weather was gorgeous for the August DC MEET Market.

Organizing, cleaning and painting have been happening quite a bit over the past few weeks–more news on that coming very soon!

{a peek: added some splashes of color to otherwise boring pegboard…’cause craft tool organization shouldn’t be ugly}

We got out of the city for a few days, but I’ll save pics from that little adventure for another post.

And jumping right into September, in the weeks ahead, I’ll be packing up my glass to share with you in person.

First up is my last visit for the year as an exhibitor at the Ballston Arts & Crafts Market. The market runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm this Saturday in Welburn Square (The Ballston Circle) at 901 North Taylor Street between North Stuart & North 9th Streets in Arlington, Va. You’ll find me at booth number 8. Hope to see you Saturday!

Also on Saturday, DC GlassWorks & Sculpture Studios hosts its first Open House of the fall. Stop by from 3:00 to 8:00 pm to enjoy free glassblowing demonstrations, music and snacks. You can give glassblowing a try with a studio instructor and make your own blown glass pumpkin (hotness!). Details online.

And on September 22 you’ll find me at the Hyattsville Arts Festival. I join more than 50 exhibitors, food and live entertainment for what should be a super fun day. The 5th Annual Downtown Hyattsville Arts Festival is located within the Gateway Arts District at the intersection of Baltimore Avenue (Route 1) & Jefferson St, at the Shoppes at Arts District Hyattsville retail town center. The street address is at 5331 Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville, MD 20781. Save the date!

Goodbye August, hello September!
