A paperweight is one of the first things you make in an introduction to glassblowing class. It’s a great opportunity to get a feel for how glass moves and a rather mesmerizing taste of what happens when you add color to clear.
And if you’re up for a break from worry about shape, it’s also a great opportunity to try out some “new” color combinations and spend some time with old favorites.
p.s. Want to make a paperweight of your own? You can at the next DC GlassWorks Open House on Saturday, February 25. And if you’re hungry for more, there’s a new round of glassblowing classes starting soon! Warning: you might get addicted!
