So I’ve been exploring color applications with glass over the past few months. A six-week incalmo class led to many an hour of extra studio time practicing the technique and, just lately, playing with it to see what else was possible.
And while playing with a color technique is fun, it’s also a challenge. How will different colors behave together, how will the glass move, and so on. Before starting a new set of classes (on yet another color technique) last week, I headed back to basics a bit with my studio time. Could I pull a neck to make a (fairly) symmetrical vase? Thankfully, the answer was yes.
The color is nice and bright, and shape blew out pretty even and thin–win!
