Your last class in a series is always a good opportunity to “go big.” For my last incalmo class, I wanted to make something that used three different colors (from three different cups) in a shape that I haven’t tried before. I’d already tried a trio of blues with two cups and wrap on my own, so I set out to make fire.
Once I’d gotten my three cups assembled and taken a clear gather over it all, the piece started getting really big, and a muscle pull in my arm started protesting the weight. Luckily, with a LOT of help from instructor Michael Showalter, it all turned out okay.
This one now towers over most other things I’ve made.
Now the only question is, which tri-color combination to try next!
