summer’s last hooray

There seems to be much more debate than I realized about the end of summer, but it is definitely on its way out in my neck of the woods. There are still 90 degree days in the forecast, but the high and low temperatures are trending downward and the daylight hours are getting shorter and shorter.

We didn’t make it to our state fair this year, but we stopped in at a local Labor Day festival this afternoon–with funnel cake, a ferris wheel and a dunking booth whizzing by, summer seemed to be having its last hooray. Thank goodness there was skee ball.
