I tried my first double color drop (picking up two different pieces of color bar and applying them as one) with my lava platter and loved the result. Of course, that meant I had to try it again. And with a different color. The first attempt was not quite what I had in mind. While the … Continue reading »

Inspiration Iceland: Glacier
In March we traveled to Iceland for a little pre-10th wedding anniversary adventure–including a glacier walk. The trek up and down a portion of Myrdalsjokull glacier on the Southwest Coast was harder than I thought it would be; but, it was well worth it. The colors and expanse of landscape were surreal. While I was drawn to warm browns and greens in the winter months, the bright sunshine, gorgeous colors and warm days are certainly making themselves known as summer gets underway. My last few sessions in the glass studio have taken a bright turn and just tonight I was experimenting with a vibrant yellow and bright … Continue reading »
Red, White and Blue
My color palette in the glass studio has definitely been trending to spring lately (pinks, blues and purple hues to name a few), so I was rather surprised to realize that my most recent session had taken a different turn. I’ll blame all the politics and election talk floating around lately for the inspiration to break … Continue reading »
